A Man in His 60s from Yeongyang-gun Dies While Receiving Treatment for Serious Injuries
The death toll from the 'Gyeongbuk wildfire' has increased by 2.
According to the forestry authorities on the 29th, a body presumed to be an elderly man in his 80s was found at a house in Danchon-myeon, Uiseong-gun, the previous afternoon. The police and forestry authorities are investigating the exact cause of death, believing that the person could not escape from the house around the 25th when the flames were intense in the Danchon-myeon area.

On the afternoon of the 28th, a man in his 60s, Mr. B, a resident of Hwamae-ri, Seokbo-myeon, Yeongyang-gun, died in the hospital. Mr. B had sustained serious injuries from the wildfire that started in Uiseong on the 25th and spread to Yeongyang-gun, and had been receiving hospital treatment.
With this, the total number of deaths caused by the Gyeongbuk wildfire has risen to 26, including the late Captain Park Hyun-woo, who died in a helicopter crash during firefighting efforts. In Sancheong, Gyeongnam, 4 people also died, bringing the total wildfire death toll to 30.
By region, the deaths are as follows: 26 in Gyeongbuk, including Uiseong, Andong, Cheongsong, Yeongyang, and Yeongdeok; and 4 in Gyeongnam, including Sancheong and Hadong.
