Jeonnam Province Supports Promising SMEs to Grow into Global Small Giants

Recruitment for Development Project Open Until April 21

Jeollanam-do is recruiting companies to participate in the 'Jeonnam-type Small Giant Enterprise Development Project' until the 21st of next month, aiming to help promising small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with growth potential become global small giants.

This project is being implemented to systematically support SMEs with technological prowess and competitiveness, helping them achieve sustainable growth and equipping them with the competitiveness needed to become key players in the regional economy in the global market.

To be selected as a Jeonnam-type small giant enterprise, companies must have operated in Jeollanam-do for more than three years and have annual sales between 2.5 billion KRW and less than 40 billion KRW.

To provide more opportunities for companies, the sales criteria have been expanded this year from the previous range of 3 billion KRW to less than 30 billion KRW, to the new range of 2.5 billion KRW to less than 40 billion KRW, lowering the application threshold.

Additionally, companies that have seen an increase above a certain percentage in at least one of the four criteria?sales growth, R&D investment ratio, employment growth, or export ratio?are eligible to apply.

Companies selected as Jeonnam-type small giant enterprises can choose from seven support programs, such as support for commercialization of R&D achievements, marketing support, and technical workforce capacity building, and receive up to 200 million KRW over two years for customized growth support.

Kim Hyungseong, Director of the Jeollanam-do Small and Venture Business Division, said, "Through the Jeonnam-type Small Giant Enterprise Development Project, we will actively support SMEs with technological capabilities to grow into small giants with global competitiveness."
