The 50th National Middle and High School Basketball Tournament, hosted by the association, will be held for ten days in Yeonggwang, Jeonnam, from the 1st to the 10th of next month.


This tournament, organized and hosted by the Korea Middle and High School Basketball Federation, will take place at three venues: Yeonggwang Sportium National Sports Center, the Indoor Auxiliary Gymnasium, and Beopseong High School Gymnasium.


More than 1,300 players and officials from 81 boys' and girls' middle and high schools nationwide will participate, with intense matches unfolding from the group stage league to the final tournament.


This year, the boys' and girls' high school championship teams from the Yeonggwang tournament will be granted the right to participate in the Asia 10 Nations Invitational Basketball Tournament (2025 NBA Rising Stars Invitational), hosted by the NBA and to be held in Singapore this June.


Yeonggwang County is recognized as the true mecca of basketball tournaments, not only hosting this event but also holding two national basketball tournaments annually, including the Category Basketball Tournament organized by the Korea Basketball Association in July.


Jang Seil, Governor of Yeonggwang County, stated, "During this tournament, we expect teams and outside spectators to visit the region. We anticipate an economic revitalization effect of over 1.3 billion KRW," and added, "We will do our utmost to support the tournament so that Korea's future basketball stars can fully showcase their talents."
