Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) conducted a joint public-private inspection for illegal hidden cameras on the 27th at Eulji University Ilhyeon Hall and the dormitory public restrooms.

This inspection was carried out at the request of Eulji University, with members of the women-friendly city supporters group "Yeouiju (Owners of Women-Friendly City Uijeongbu)" and Eulji University students participating together to directly inspect students' learning and living spaces.

The city and the inspection team used lens detectors and radio wave detectors to check for the installation of illegal filming devices, focusing on toilet lids, ceilings, and ventilation ducts, and attached stickers with warning messages to places with scratches or holes.

Mayor Kim Dong-geun stated, "Requests for rental of illegal filming detection equipment and restroom inspections have been steadily increasing recently," and added, "We will continue regular inspections to alleviate citizens' concerns about digital sex crimes and create a safe environment."

Meanwhile, the city offers free rental of illegal filming detection equipment, which anyone can use by applying through the Gyeonggi Province shared services website or by phone and visiting with an ID card.
