Linked with Youth from Immigrant Backgrounds and Local Universities
"A classroom that imagines the future is coming."
Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju is launching a career education program focused on artificial intelligence (AI) and future technologies to strengthen the creative and convergent capabilities of youth. Starting in April, the "Career Education Visiting Schools" program will begin, and from May, the "Future Technology School" will open in collaboration with local universities and science museums.
According to Gwangsan-gu on the 28th, this year's "Career Education Visiting Schools" program received applications from 1,711 students in 132 teams from 26 elementary, middle, and high schools in Gwangsan-gu. The education consists of 13 programs across six fields: AI, coding, 3D maker, video production, AI content creation, and job exploration. In particular, based on last year's satisfaction survey, the fields of culture and arts, digital, and job exploration have been expanded with a focus on artificial intelligence.

The AI webtoon and music creation courses are linked with the Yahocenter "Jobdahan Dream Classroom" in Wolgok-dong, allowing both youth with immigrant backgrounds and local youth to explore career paths together. Company job explorations will also be conducted in parallel.
The "Future Technology School" for high school students will provide hands-on experiences and expert mentoring in AI convergence, advanced medical technology, automotive mobility, and aerospace, in cooperation with Honam University, Gwangju Health University, Nambu University, and Gwangju Science Museum.
Park Byungkyu, head of Gwangsan-gu Office, said, "I hope young people will experience technologies beyond textbooks and design various career possibilities," adding, "We will further expand educational opportunities so they can grow into creative and convergent talents."
