The Chungnam Office of Education held the ‘2025 Student Counseling Volunteer Regular Idea Sharing Meeting’ on the morning of the 27th at Splas Resom in Deoksan-myeon, Yesan-gun, with 40 participants including executive members of the Student Counseling Volunteer Association, regional chairpersons, and staff in charge.

During the meeting, participants discussed the operational direction of the 2025 Student Counseling Volunteer Program and the direction of volunteer training, and shared the achievements of the 2024 Student Counseling Volunteer Program.

The Student Counseling Volunteer Program was launched in 1989 and has since achieved significant results in helping students resolve their difficulties through counseling at schools.

Currently, 219 members are actively working as student counseling volunteers, providing individual and group counseling at schools. They are also gradually expanding their activities by collaborating with related local organizations beyond the schools.

The provincial office of education plans to operate a two-day, one-night learning workshop to strengthen the competencies of student counseling volunteers, and to prioritize volunteer placement in schools without professional counselors to address gaps in counseling services.

Superintendent Kim Jicheol said, “I would like to thank all the student counseling volunteers for your dedication to supporting students’ mental health and for your efforts to vitalize the Student Counseling Volunteer Program.”
