Yeoju-si Launches Full-Scale Renewable Energy Housing Support Project

Yeoju City in Gyeonggi Province announced on the 27th that it will promote the 2025 Renewable Energy Housing Support Project, which provides additional partial installation cost support beyond government subsidies to expand the supply of renewable energy and reduce household burdens for detached houses and apartment complexes in the region.

This project is designed to subsidize part of the cost when owners of renewable energy homes install renewable energy facilities such as solar power for self-consumption, with support from the Korea Energy Agency and local governments.

When installing a 3 kW solar power system in a detached house, a total installation cost of 4.93 million KRW is subsidized by 3.04 million KRW (1.79 million KRW from the national government and 1.25 million KRW from local government), reducing the self-payment amount to about 1.89 million KRW.

Applications can be made from April 11 until the project budget is exhausted (first-come, first-served) through the Korea Energy Agency’s Green Home program, and the project application is possible through a facility installation contract between the applicant and the Energy Agency’s participating company.

A Yeoju City official stated, “We will continue to promote renewable energy supply projects to help residents reduce energy costs and contribute to carbon neutrality.”
