This meeting was the first since Hanmoo Shopping, an affiliate of Hyundai Department Store Group, won the bid for the distribution industry facility site in the Gyeongsan Knowledge Industry District on February 19 and signed the land sale contract on February 28.
This was an official occasion reaffirming Hyundai Department Store's strong commitment to opening the Gyeongsan Premium Outlet in 2028.
During the meeting, various opinions were exchanged regarding regional development strategies following the opening of a large premium outlet. Both parties discussed ways to maximize mutual synergy and closely collaborated on plans for co-prosperity with the local community. They agreed to work together to create a special healing space for workers in the Gyeongsan Knowledge Industry District and to develop a complex economic free zone for industry, culture, and leisure that will attract young people.
Chung Ji-young, CEO of Hyundai Department Store, said, "Gyeongsan Premium Outlet will be developed as a new-concept outlet of the highest national standard through spatial innovation to secure a leading market share in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region's distribution industry. We will do our best to ensure the opening proceeds smoothly by 2028."
