Applications accepted on the Guro-gu Office website from March 31 to April 4 for residents, workers, and groups
1,160 box garden sets for individuals, 680 for groups, and 900 soil sets available
Guro-gu will recruit applicants for the ‘Box Garden’ from March 31 to April 4.
This distribution is designed to provide residents with the opportunity to practice eco-friendly farming by utilizing small spaces in their daily lives to grow crops themselves and enjoy the joy of harvesting.
This year, 1,840 box garden sets (1,160 for individuals, 680 for groups) and 900 soil sets have been prepared.
The box garden set consists of a garden box, 50L of soil, lettuce seedlings, and an instruction manual, while the soil set includes 50L of soil and assorted lettuce seeds.
Applications can be submitted by Guro-gu residents or employees and groups located in Guro-gu through the Guro-gu Office website.
Individuals can apply for only one set, either a box garden or a soil set, per household, and duplicate applications are not allowed. Groups can apply for up to 10 sets per location.
The results will be selected through an automatic computerized lottery and announced on April 10 on the Guro-gu Office website and via individual text messages.
Applicants must confirm the self-payment amount (8,600 KRW for the box garden, 2,400 KRW for the soil set) and make the payment; deliveries will be made sequentially starting April 21. For more details about the distribution, visit the Guro-gu Office website or contact the Regional Economy Division.
A Guro-gu official said, “We hope this distribution allows people to cultivate gardens in small spaces, feel closer to nature, and add small joys to their daily lives. We will continue to do our best to create eco-friendly living spaces within the city.”
