Campaign Held to Strengthen Wildfire Prevention Amid Widespread Spring Wildfires
Promoting Wildfire Safety to Residents Together with Geumcheon Fire Station, Police, and Military Units

Geumcheon-gu (District Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon) announced that on the 26th, it conducted a wildfire prevention campaign together with the Geumcheon Fire Station to prevent wildfires in the area and ensure the safety of residents amid the nationwide spread of large-scale wildfires in spring.

On this day, Geumcheon District Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon personally participated in promoting wildfire prevention. Along with the Geumcheon Fire Station and local residents, they distributed wildfire prevention materials around the Hoam Neulsolgil area and inspected wildfire suppression equipment such as high-pressure water hose storage boxes.

The district has designated the period from January 24 to May 15 as the spring wildfire caution period and has organized a firefighting team of public officials ready to be immediately deployed in case of wildfire occurrence. Additionally, it operates a comprehensive wildfire prevention task force by inspecting the wildfire prevention cooperation system with related organizations such as the Geumcheon Fire Station, police, and military units.

Geumcheon District Mayor Yoo Seong-hoon said, “I hope the nationwide wildfires will be quickly extinguished, and we will do our utmost to ensure that our residents can safely use the forests without wildfire damage,” adding, “We also ask residents to actively cooperate in wildfire prevention in their daily lives.”
