[2025 Asset Disclosure] Jo Gyu-hong, Minister of Health and Welfare, 2.5 Billion KRW... 140 Million KRW Increase in One Year

Minister of Health and Welfare Cho Kyu-hong reported assets worth 2,485,620,000 KRW, an increase of 140,000,000 KRW compared to last year. Among the heads of institutions under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Jeong Ki-seok, the chairman of the National Health Insurance Corporation and a medical doctor, reported the highest assets at 9,500,000,000 KRW.

According to the "2025 Regular Asset Changes of Public Officials" disclosed by the Government Ethics Committee on the 27th through the official gazette, Minister Cho reported ownership of an apartment in Sejong worth 347,000,000 KRW, a leasehold right on an apartment in Bundang-gu, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province under his spouse's name worth 1,150,000,000 KRW, and an officetel in Osong, Cheongju, Chungbuk worth 130,100,000 KRW. The total deposits under Minister Cho and his spouse's names amount to 870,970,000 KRW. The couple's assets increased by 142,160,000 KRW compared to last year due to changes in apartment values.


Lee Ki-il, the first vice minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, reported total assets of 4,065,590,000 KRW. Vice Minister Lee owns a jointly held apartment in Gwacheon City with his spouse, buildings worth 4,181,540,000 KRW, and deposits totaling 917,080,000 KRW. The couple's assets increased by 567,410,000 KRW compared to the previous year due to the purchase of another apartment in Gwacheon, Gyeonggi Province.


Park Min-su, the second vice minister of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, reported assets of 894,790,000 KRW, an increase of 48,440,000 KRW from a year ago due to savings for living expenses.


Ji Young-mi, the director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, reported assets totaling 4,887,380,000 KRW, including land worth 2,715,540,000 KRW, buildings worth 1,400,000,000 KRW, and deposits of 840,690,000 KRW under her and her spouse's names.


Additionally, Im Sook-young, the deputy director of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, and Park Hyun-young, the director of the National Institute of Health, reported assets of 4,925,960,000 KRW and 4,447,540,000 KRW, respectively.


Oh Yoo-kyung, the director of the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, reported assets of 7,408,250,000 KRW, an increase of approximately 1,144,000,000 KRW from a year ago. The buildings, including the leasehold right on an apartment in Gangnam-gu, Seoul under her spouse's name, remained unchanged at a total of 1,440,000,000 KRW, but deposits owned by Director Oh, her spouse, and eldest daughter increased significantly from 1,346,000,000 KRW to 2,706,780,000 KRW. In particular, her spouse's deposits rose from 327,000,000 KRW to 1,586,000,000 KRW.


Among the heads of institutions under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Jeong Ki-seok, chairman of the National Health Insurance Corporation and a medical doctor, reported the highest assets at 9,499,630,000 KRW. This includes deposits of 3,993,240,000 KRW under his and his spouse's names, buildings worth 2,591,500,000 KRW, and stocks worth 1,899,410,000 KRW. However, Chairman Jeong's assets decreased by 75,510,000 KRW compared to last year due to changes in real estate values.


Jo Sang-mi, president of the Central Social Service Agency, reported assets of 8,601,630,000 KRW; Kang Jung-gu, president of the Health Insurance Review and Assessment Service, reported 5,826,010,000 KRW; and Kim Tae-hyun, chairman of the National Pension Service, reported 2,548,610,000 KRW in assets.
