Jeon Hyunhee: "The prosecution that released Yoon should also drop the appeal against Lee"

On the 26th, as the second trial concluded with a not guilty verdict in the case of Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, for violating the Public Official Election Act, Jeon Hyun-hee, a Supreme Council member of the Democratic Party, stated, "This day is a great victory for the people and a death sentence for political prosecution."

On the same day, Jeon posted on her Facebook, saying, "The court acquitted Representative Lee and convicted the unjust prosecution," conveying this message. She serves as the Chairperson of the Democratic Party's Committee for Judicial Justice Realization and Countermeasures Against Prosecutorial Dictatorship.
She said, "It has been proven (by this result) that the prosecution's forced indictment was a conspiracy by political prosecutors who collaborated in the elimination of political opponents under the Yoon Seok-yeol prosecutorial dictatorship regime," adding, "This is a just verdict where justice has prevailed."
She continued, "I thank the court for its decision to uphold judicial justice," and added, "I also express my respect and gratitude to the people who have stood with Representative Lee in bravely fighting against the political oppression of the prosecutorial dictatorship regime."
Jeon further stated, "The prosecution abandoned the unprecedented immediate appeal against the cancellation of the arrest warrant for the ringleader of the rebellion, President Yoon, effectively allowing him to escape," and said, "They should also fairly abandon the appeal against Representative Lee." She warned, "Otherwise, they will face the stern judgment of the people for arbitrary abuse of prosecutorial power that submits to authority but wields the sword only against the opposition leader."
In conclusion, she said, "The People Power Party, which has poured abusive language and curses on Representative Lee, should bow their heads and apologize to the people," and added, "The prosecution and the People Power Party should keep in mind that the time for the people's judgment is approaching."
Other lawmakers also expressed their welcome messages regarding the not guilty verdict through Facebook posts. Supreme Council member Kim Byung-joo said, "This is a victory for justice and truth, and a victory for democracy," adding, "This verdict is a clear rebuttal to the prosecution's unjust indictment and political conspiracy." He also expressed deep gratitude to the court for its fair and wise judgment.
Assemblyman Oh Ki-hyung wrote, "All not guilty," and added, "Now the Constitutional Court must answer." Assemblyman Kim Young-ho posted, "You have suffered a lot because of bad people," and wrote, "Sapilgwijeong (a four-character idiom meaning that all things will inevitably return to righteousness)!"
