and Operation Strategies for Sports Facilities

The Administrative Autonomy Committee and the Economic Welfare Committee of the Gwangsan-gu Council in Gwangju announced on the 26th that they have begun their first field-oriented legislative activities of the year during the 295th extraordinary session.

The Administrative Autonomy Committee, chaired by Park Hyunseok, visited the former youth hostel site in Samdo-dong and the Sindong Health Clinic the previous day. At the youth hostel site, which has been left unused for a long time, they discussed ways to utilize the area, such as attracting public facilities or private rentals. At the health clinic, they checked the current status of facility operations and listened to residents' opinions. Chairperson Park said, "Visiting the site in person provided an opportunity to recognize the issues once again," and added, "We will seek solutions through comprehensive review and cooperation with relevant departments."


The Economic Welfare Committee, chaired by Kim Youngsun, visited the Koryoin Village in Wolgok-dong, Hanam Danuri Sports Center, and Donggok-dong Student Horse Riding Experience Center. At Koryoin Village, they examined the migration history and cultural characteristics and explored ways to develop it as a tourism resource. At Hanam Danuri Sports Center, they reviewed the program composition and staffing plans. At the Student Horse Riding Experience Center, they inspected the facilities and programs and encouraged the activation of experiences for youth. Chairperson Kim stated, "It was a meaningful time to deeply understand and empathize with local cultural and sports facilities," and added, "We will continue to promote policies that meet the needs of residents."
