Korea Local Information Development Institute and Gyeongnam Research Institute Join Hands to Promote Data-Driven Regional Policy

The Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute announced on the 25th that it has signed a business agreement with the Gyeongnam Research Institute to promote data-driven regional policies.

This agreement was pursued to support the Research Institute's regional development and policy research based on the local data held by the Institute, and to strengthen various regional digital services in areas such as finance and administration. The signing ceremony was attended by Park Deok-su, President of the Korea Local Information Research & Development Institute, and Oh Dong-ho, President of the Gyeongnam Research Institute.

According to this agreement, the two organizations will jointly promote ▲ joint research on measures to activate data-driven regional policies ▲ preparation of mid- to long-term development plans for local finance ▲ mutual cooperation and academic exchange related to digital policies ▲ cooperation to enhance and activate the operation of the ‘Jeongchaekdomeu-e’ function.

The organizations will first begin joint research to establish a data-driven ‘Available Resources Prediction Model.’ This is based on the judgment that available resources form the foundation for autonomous policy formulation and implementation by local governments.

Additionally, they plan to select pilot local governments within Gyeongsangnam-do to analyze multi-year data using Jeongchaekdomeu-e, and design a highly accurate prediction model through numerous verification simulations.

President Park Deok-su stated, “Going forward, the two organizations will cooperate to take the lead in enabling local governments to more easily utilize high-quality data,” and added, “In particular, through scientific data-driven prediction of available resources, we will spare no effort to support local governments in planning and implementing policies more effectively.”
