Gokseong County in Jeonnam announced on the 25th that County Governor Cho Sangrae participated in the "Relay Campaign for Improving Awareness of Population Issues."
This campaign was launched jointly by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Human Resources Development Institute for Health and Welfare in October last year to encourage the local community to work together to address and find solutions to social problems caused by population decline.
Governor Cho joined the campaign after being nominated by Kim Taegyun, Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council. After participating, he nominated Kang Deokgu, Chairman of the Gokseong County Council, and Jang Seil, Governor of Yeonggwang County, as the next participants.
Governor Cho stated, "We will actively promote childbirth encouragement policies such as supporting newborn childcare expenses and providing basic birth allowances, as well as pay basic allowances for youth to help attract and settle young people in the region. Solving population issues is a challenge we must address together for the sustainable development of our community. We will continue to create a hopeful Gokseong through proactive policy implementation and communication with residents."
