Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam held an official meeting on the 25th with the newly elected leadership of the Changwon-Masan Merchants Association, following the completion of the 2025 association president election.

The meeting was attended by Jang Noyong, President of the Changwon City Market Merchants Association, Kim Sangsoo, President of the Masan Integrated Merchants Association, Jung Bonghyo, Auditor (Changwon area), and Seo Moonbyeongcheol, Auditor (Masan area). The new leadership introduced themselves and discussed strategies for revitalizing the local commercial districts.
In particular, participants exchanged opinions on strengthening the competitiveness of traditional markets through facility modernization, strategies for revitalizing commercial districts in connection with local festivals and events, and practical measures to alleviate merchants' difficulties due to the economic downturn, seeking ways to cooperate for the recovery of the local economy.
Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, stated, "Congratulations to the newly elected leadership of the Merchants Association. Changwon City will implement effective support policies that reflect the voices from the field," and emphasized, "We will actively work to restore vitality to the local commercial districts through public-private cooperation."
