Hanwha Vision announced on the 25th that it has appointed Kim Ki-cheol, head of the Strategic Planning Office, as its new CEO.

Newly appointed CEO Kim graduated from the Department of Economics at Chungnam National University and completed an MBA program at Sungkyunkwan University and Indiana University's Kelley School of Business in the United States. Recognized as a leading ‘strategist’ within the group, CEO Kim has excelled not only in his major fields of strategy and planning but also in on-site operations and sales marketing. In particular, he served as the head of the U.S. branch, Hanwha Vision’s main market, for five years, significantly contributing to the expansion of the global market share. The current North America-centered business system was largely built thanks to CEO Kim’s efforts in pioneering the market based on his global network.

With nearly 30 years of achievements across various business areas, the company expects Hanwha Vision’s market competitiveness to be further strengthened under Kim’s leadership. Hanwha Vision, which is focusing on expanding customized services including the ‘Artificial Intelligence (AI) Pack’ applicable to various industrial sites such as manufacturing and retail, plans to continuously expand its global market presence by leveraging these advanced security solutions.

Like his predecessor, CEO Kim will concurrently serve as the CEO of the subsidiary Hanwha Semitech. Hanwha Semitech, which recently succeeded in mass-producing high-bandwidth memory (HBM) TC bonders and newly joined the ‘NVIDIA supply chain,’ plans to focus on securing global market competitiveness. Going forward, ‘technological synergy’ between the two companies is also anticipated, led by CEO Kim.

CEO Kim stated, “Although global market competition is fiercer than ever, we will lead the market based on our unparalleled technological capabilities. We will strengthen competitiveness in our core areas while also striving to discover future growth engines that can become new sources of growth.”
