According to AMD Korea on the 25th, CEO Su sent a video message to the 'AI Global Forum' hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, held at Lotte Hotel that afternoon.

CEO Su has never attended an event held in Korea before. Although she mentioned to reporters at Computex 2024 held in Taipei, Taiwan, in June last year that she would visit Korea within the year, the visit did not materialize.

The fact that CEO Su sent a video message to this event is interpreted as showing a strong intention toward business operations in Korea.

AMD is making a strong impression by aggressively challenging its rival Intel in its main field, central processing units (CPU). The recently launched consumer CPU, Ryzen 9950X3D, is regarded as the best CPU ever. However, in the GPU field, AMD is still in a position to challenge NVIDIA.

An industry insider said, "As Korea actively pursues AI strategies, such as establishing a national AI data center, overseas vendors are watching Korea with great interest."

At the event, Jung So-young, CEO of NVIDIA Korea, and Kim Do-young, Director of AMD Korea, are expected to attend and present their strategies to Korean customers. In particular, NVIDIA will introduce content announced at the GTC 2025 event held in the United States.

NVIDIA and AMD have recently confirmed product supply for the country's 6th national supercomputer. While the bidding for the 6th national supercomputer failed several times last year, multiple vendors have stepped forward to supply GPUs in this year's bidding, breaking the deadlock.

A Ministry of Science and ICT official said, "We expect this event to stimulate the interest and competition of major related companies in promoting the national AI data center project."

At the event, overseas companies such as Intel, AWS, Oracle, OpenAI, Lambda, and TensorWave, as well as domestic companies including More, Rebellion, Furiosa, and NHN Cloud, are also scheduled to attend and make presentations.
