Gwangyang Free Economic Zone Authority Promotes at Global Energy Storage Forum

Participation in the 'Global Session' at China International Expo Center

Gwangyang Bay Area Free Economic Zone Authority (Commissioner Koo Chunggon, hereinafter referred to as Gwangyang FEZ Authority) announced on the 24th that it participated in the 15th China International Energy Storage Forum Global Session held at the Hangzhou International Expo Center in China on the 23rd. At the event, the authority introduced the investment environment of the Gwangyang Bay Area to the global stage and strengthened the foundation for international cooperation in the Energy Storage System (ESS) industry sector.


This event served as a global networking platform, attended by over 200 businesspeople and experts from major countries in the ESS sector, including China, Korea, the United States, and Europe, to share the current state of the industry, future prospects, and key projects.

Koo Chunggon, Commissioner of the Gwangyang FEZ Authority, stated in his congratulatory remarks, "We will lead the advancement of Korea's ESS industry by successfully promoting the ESS industry centered on the Yulchon Industrial Complex," adding, "Taking this forum as an opportunity, we will deepen Korea-China cooperation and foster the Gwangyang Bay Area as a global hub for ESS manufacturing and export."


In the following session, an official from the Gwangyang FEZ Authority gave a presentation on the theme of "Strategies for Establishing an ESS Manufacturing Base in Korea's Gwangyang Bay Area," specifically outlining investment strategies based on the designation of the Special Opportunity Development Zone for Secondary Batteries, plans to expand the global supply chain, and a roadmap for Korea-China industrial linkage, which drew significant attention from the participants.


Koo Chunggon, Commissioner of the Gwangyang FEZ Authority, emphasized, "This forum has served as an opportunity for the Gwangyang Bay Area to establish itself as a base for core secondary battery materials and the ESS industry, and it was a meaningful time that could lead to increased international recognition and actual investment attraction."
