Declaration of General Strike and Struggle
"We Will Fight Alongside the Citizens of Gwangju"
Civil society in Gwangju has expressed strong opposition to the Constitutional Court's decision to dismiss the impeachment motion against Prime Minister Han Ducksoo. On the 24th, Gwangju Emergency Action issued an urgent statement, harshly criticizing the Constitutional Court and declaring, "The sovereign people will take action."

Gwangju Emergency Action asserted, "The Constitutional Court itself determined that Prime Minister Han Ducksoo's refusal to appoint a Constitutional Court justice was unconstitutional, yet it dismissed the impeachment motion," adding, "They have betrayed the public's trust through a political decision."
They further stated, "The Constitutional Court has effectively granted a free pass to Prime Minister Han Ducksoo, who obstructed the appointment of a Constitutional Court justice essential for pursuing the impeachment of President Yoon Sukyeol, who has been labeled the ringleader of an insurrection," and added, "The Court has ignored the desperate outcry of the people and has undermined the trust in the law."
Gwangju Emergency Action characterized the Constitutional Court's actions as "abetting and condoning insurrection," warning, "We will join with the citizens of Gwangju in a general strike and struggle." They continued, "The Constitutional Court must stop testing the patience of the people," and emphasized, "Judgments should be made in the name of the Constitution, not politics."
On this day, they also singled out President Yoon Sukyeol, the prosecution, and the judiciary, stating, "We will no longer stand by as those who incited insurrection escape through legal technicalities and as the system that condones this continues."
