BNK Financial Group Donates 300 Million KRW for Wildfire Recovery in Gyeongnam and Ulsan

Emergency Disaster Relief Volunteer Corps Dispatched to the Scene
New Loans, Maturity Extensions, and Interest Rate Reductions Provided for Disaster Victims

BNK Financial Group has prepared financial support measures to assist residents and businesses affected by wildfires in regions such as Sancheong, Gyeongnam, and Ulju, Ulsan. They have decided to donate approximately 300 million KRW for emergency relief, damage recovery, support for disaster victims' daily necessities, and securing housing safety, in cooperation with the Red Cross in each affected area.

BNK Financial, through its affiliates Busan Bank and Gyeongnam Bank, will prioritize providing management stabilization funds to companies submitting a 'Damage Confirmation Certificate' according to the 'Disaster Recovery Financial Support System' manual they have established. This includes not only interest rate reductions on existing loans but also preferential interest rates on new loans, deferral of loan interest payments, and installment payment deferrals. Emergency living support funds and exemptions from remittance and currency exchange fees will also be provided to individual disaster victims. Relief supplies including bottled water, ready-to-eat meals, and hygiene products will be supplied to affected residents and areas, along with support kits containing energy bars and vitamins for public officials participating in firefighting efforts.

The group-level Emergency Disaster Relief Volunteer Corps will also be dispatched to the disaster sites. Although they are not professional firefighting personnel and will not be involved in direct firefighting operations, they plan to engage in various support activities for disaster victims struggling on-site. On the 22nd, 50 members of the BNK Gyeongnam Bank Disaster Relief Team were directly deployed to the vicinity of Sicheon-myeon, Sancheong-gun, to carry out emergency support activities.

On the afternoon of the 24th, BNK Financial Group Chairman Bindaein, along with group executives, paid respects at the joint memorial altar for fire victims set up in Changnyeong, Gyeongnam. A BNK Financial Group official stated, “Since this wildfire occurred in our regions such as Gyeongnam and Ulsan and caused significant damage, the group will do its utmost to ensure that affected businesses and disaster victims can quickly return to normal business activities and livelihoods. We will continue to fulfill our responsibilities as a leading regional financial group and provide practical support.”
