Dongducheon City Athletes Excel at National Speed Skating Competition
The 60th National Men’s and Women’s Speed Skating Competition in Memory of Skaters, hosted by the Korea Skating Union, was held from the 21st to the 23rd at the Taereung International Skating Rink.

According to Dongducheon City on the 24th, Kim Yoonji, a player from Dongducheon City Hall, won first place in the women’s general division 1500m and 3000m events, achieving two crowns. In particular, she set a personal best record in the 1500m category. Additionally, Ahn Hyunjun, also from Dongducheon City Hall, placed third in the men’s general division 1500m and 3000m events, achieving results comparable to Kim Yoonji.
Kim Yoonji, who won two crowns at the competition, stated, “This result is thanks to the support and encouragement of many people, and I will work even harder to achieve better results in the future.”
Ahn Hyunjun said, “It was a tough competition, but based on the confidence built through training, I was able to achieve good results. I will do my best to achieve good results in international competitions as well.”
Kim Yoonji and Ahn Hyunjun are preparing for the national team selection for the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics and plan to elevate the status of Korean ice sports on a bigger stage.
