First Deputy Mayor Jang Geumyong Visits and Personally Delivers Relief Supplies
Worth 20 Million Won to Wildfire Victims
Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam announced on the 24th that it has delivered emergency relief supplies to residents affected by the large-scale wildfire that occurred in Sancheong-gun.
Changwon Special City and Sancheong County Provide Emergency Relief Supplies Due to Large-Scale Wildfire Damage.
Due to the large wildfire in Sancheong-gun, 589 residents from 385 households in Sancheong-gun and nearby Hadong-gun were evacuated, and 15 facilities, including 6 houses and 2 temples, were destroyed by fire. As the scale and scope of the damage increased, Sancheong-gun was declared a special disaster area on the 22nd to enable swift recovery and support for the victims.
In response, Changwon Special City promptly prepared relief supplies worth approximately 20 million won and delivered them to Sancheong-gun. The relief items consisted of daily necessities such as towels, shampoo, toothbrush sets, food, and personal hygiene products for the wildfire victims.
Jang Geumyong, the First Deputy Mayor, who visited the affected site, said, "I would like to express my deepest condolences to the victims who lost their homes due to the sudden fire, and I sincerely hope for a swift recovery and return to daily life. Changwon City will also closely cooperate with the affected area and spare no effort in supporting the recovery on site."
Deputy Mayor Jang also visited the members of the fire department working hard on the recovery efforts and expressed his appreciation for their dedication.
Meanwhile, Changwon City had previously dispatched 20 firefighters and 10 pieces of equipment from the Changwon Fire Department to help extinguish the wildfire in Sancheong-gun.
