Solar Power and Solar Thermal Systems to Be Installed at 414 Sites Including Buk-i-myeon
Expected to Reduce Energy Costs and Preserve the Environment
Jangseong County in Jeollanam-do is set to actively promote a project supporting the installation of renewable energy systems in houses and buildings. On the 24th, the county announced that it will implement the 'Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project' with a total investment of 3.66 billion KRW.
This project involves installing two or more types of renewable energy systems, such as solar power and solar thermal, in houses or buildings. Jangseong County plans to support the installation of solar power systems (342 sites) and solar thermal systems (72 sites) at a total of 414 locations in Bukil-myeon, Buk-i-myeon, and Bukha-myeon. The self-payment ratio is within 20% of the total project cost.
The county secured 910 million KRW in national funds and 160 million KRW in provincial funds after being selected in a public offering by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy last year. Additionally, from 2022 to last year, the county invested 10.6 billion KRW over three years to install renewable energy systems at 1,304 locations in eight areas, including Jangseong-eup, Jinwon-myeon, and Nam-myeon.
A county official stated, "We will continue to steadily expand the supply of renewable energy to reduce the burden of electricity and heating costs for residents and contribute to carbon neutrality and environmental preservation."
