Jeonju City and the Jeonju IT & Culture Industry Promotion Agency will be accepting applications for participation in the "2025 First Half Jeonju Film Post-Production Support Project" from the 31st of this month until the 14th of next month.

According to the city on the 24th, this project has been established to revitalize the domestic independent film production environment and to enhance the quality of creative and experimental works.

The Jeonju Film Post-Production Support Project, jointly operated by the Jeonju IT & Culture Industry Promotion Agency and the Jeonju International Film Festival, has contributed to elevating the quality of independent films by supporting sound mastering at the Jeonju Sound Mastering Studio and color grading and DCP production at the Color Grading Studio.

Through this call for applications, the city plans to select and support a total of five works: one nationwide feature film, one nationwide short film, one local short film, and two DCP (Digital Cinema Packaging) productions.

Creators wishing to apply can check the detailed information in the notices section on the websites of the Jeonju IT & Culture Industry Promotion Agency or the Jeonju Film Studio.

In relation to this, works that have undergone post-production through this project have already proven their value by achieving outstanding results at domestic and international film festivals.

For example, at the "2023 Jeonju International Film Festival," director Shin Dongmin's "From You" won the Korean Competition Grand Prize, while at the "2024 Busan International Film Festival," director Jo Seyoung's "K-Number" and director Song Jiseo's "Yurim" won the Audience Award in the Documentary section and the Sonje Award in the Wide Angle Competition section, respectively, receiving acclaim from both film fans and critics.

Additionally, at last year's "2024 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival," director Jung Jaehun's "The Light of Esper" won the Korean Fantastic Feature Film Award, further demonstrating the strength of independent films.

Moreover, at the recently held "50th Seoul Independent Film Festival," works that underwent post-production through the Jeonju Film Post-Production Support Project achieved remarkable success by winning in three categories. Specifically, director Jo Seyoung's "K-Number" won the Grand Prize, and director Song Jiseo's "Yurim" received both the Short Film Grand Prize and the Amnesty International Candlelight Award, as well as the Short Film Award at the "45th Blue Dragon Film Awards," reaffirming Jeonju's role in the independent film industry.

Jeonju City and the Jeonju IT & Culture Industry Promotion Agency plan to continue supporting the improvement of the creative environment for domestic independent films through the Jeonju Film Post-Production Support Project, enabling a variety of works to reach audiences as high-quality results.

A city official said, "We hope that many independent film creators will participate in the 2025 first half call for applications and actively utilize Jeonju's post-production infrastructure."
