Come to 'Waguri Matjip', Guri City's Officially Certified Restaurants,
Leading the Way in Local Food Culture and Economic Revitalization
Guri City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun) announced on the 24th that the ‘Waguri Matjip’ designation project, promoted as an excellent policy of the 8th local government to revitalize the local economy, is continuing to make steady progress in its third year of implementation.
‘Waguri Matjip’ refers to representative restaurants certified by Guri City that have received excellent evaluations in all aspects including taste, price, hygiene and facilities, and service, playing an important role in improving food culture and revitalizing commercial districts.
Guri City has been conducting monthly ‘Waguri Matjip’ tours with the Guri Mayor since last year to widely promote ‘Waguri Matjip’ and ‘Nopo Restaurants’ and to invigorate the local commercial district, and plans to actively promote them through various methods going forward.
Meanwhile, the city designated a total of 28 ‘Waguri Matjip’ and 2 ‘Nopo Restaurants’ over the past two years, and plans to discover and additionally designate excellent hidden restaurants this year as well.
Along with this, through the Guri Life Guide G-MAP, citizens are provided with easy access to basic information and representative menus of ‘Waguri Matjip’ and ‘Nopo Restaurants’.
Mayor Baek Kyung-hyun of Guri said, “With the opening of Line 8 last year as an opportunity, we will discover and promote hidden restaurants to revitalize the local commercial district of Guri City,” adding, “We will continue to make various efforts to revitalize the local economy.”
