Kim Young-seop, CEO of KT, was disclosed to have received executive compensation of 901 million KRW last year. Additionally, the number of regular employees decreased by about 3,000 compared to the previous year.

According to KT's business report for last year on the 22nd, CEO Kim Young-seop received a total of 901 million KRW, including a salary of 556 million KRW, a bonus of 332 million KRW, and other labor income of 13 million KRW. Seo Chang-seok, Vice President and Head of the Network Division, received the second highest amount of 750 million KRW (salary 392 million KRW, bonus 339 million KRW, other labor income 1.9 million KRW).

KT explained that their compensation was determined by comprehensively considering business performance such as sales and operating profit, the achievements and contributions as executives, and internal and external management environments.

As of December 31 last year, the number of KT's regular (indefinite-term) employees was 15,812, comprising 12,128 men and 3,684 women, which is a 16.89% decrease compared to the previous year. This was the result of workforce reallocation at the group level. Although the number of regular employees has steadily declined over the past five years, the decrease last year was the largest. Over the five-year period, the number dropped from 22,810 in 2019 to 19,026 in 2023.

The average annual salary for employees was 112 million KRW for men and 101 million KRW for women, which increased by 3 million KRW and 4 million KRW respectively compared to the previous year. This amount was calculated by combining the wages of regular and fixed-term employees.
