Gyeonggi-do Corporation announced on the 22nd that on the 20th, a meeting for Baedal Teukgeup was held at the small conference room of Gapyeong-gun Office Building 2, gathering Gapyeong-gun officials and local small business owners.

The meeting was attended by Yang Jaeseong, a member of the Gapyeong-gun Council (Democratic Party), Park Jaegun, Director of the Gapyeong-gun Economic Industry Bureau, representatives from the Traditional Market Merchants Association, Small Business Federation, Alley Market Merchants Association, and other related organizations.

The meeting was organized to understand the current status and issues of Baedal Teukgeup in Gapyeong-gun and to gather ideas for its revitalization. Since February, Gyeonggi-do Corporation has been consistently holding local meetings to listen to voices from the field.

Yang Jaeseong, a Gapyeong-gun council member, said, "I requested this meeting to revitalize small business owners," adding, "I hope that good ideas will emerge through this opportunity so that all stores in Gapyeong-gun can thrive."

Park Jaegun, Director of the Gapyeong-gun Economic Industry Bureau, also stated, "We will make this an opportunity to find and implement good measures where small business owners and consumers can coexist."

Meanwhile, representatives of merchant organizations who attended the meeting suggested that, considering Gapyeong-gun’s geographical characteristics with many external tourists, integration with Onnuri gift certificate payments is necessary. They also proposed the need for measures to increase awareness for Baedal Teukgeup’s revitalization and ways for merchants to directly participate in Baedal Teukgeup marketing.
