Palgongsan National Park Service and Kyungpook National University Museum of Natural History Join Hands

Natural History Museum to Establish National Park Promotion Center
Ecological Tour Program Linked with Daegu City Tour to Be Operated

Jung Jungkwon, Director of the Palgongsan National Park Eastern Office of the Korea National Park Service, and Lee Kyungyeol, Director of the Kyungpook National University Museum of Natural History, have joined hands to promote ecological tourism and spread the culture of nature conservation in Palgongsan National Park.

Palgongsan National Park Service and Kyungpook National University Museum of Natural History Join Hands Kyungpook National University Museum of Natural History (Director Kyungyeol Lee, hereinafter referred to as the Museum of Natural History) is taking a commemorative photo after signing a business agreement to promote ecotourism in Palgongsan National Park and to spread the culture of nature conservation.

On the 20th, the two organizations signed a memorandum of understanding and agreed to develop and operate an ecological tourism program that connects various tourist attractions in Palgongsan National Park and the Gunwi-gun area.


In particular, they plan to strengthen their cooperation by designating the Museum of Natural History as a hub for ecological tourism.


According to the agreement, the Museum of Natural History will create and exhibit taxidermy displays of wild animal carcasses found in the national park, while the Palgongsan National Park Eastern Office will establish a promotional center within the museum to showcase endangered species and specimens of wild animals inhabiting Palgongsan National Park. These will be actively utilized in the operation of the ecological tourism program.


Additionally, the Palgongsan National Park Eastern Office will introduce a special route in connection with the Daegu City Tour, operating a program every fourth Sunday of the month that visits the Kyungpook National University Museum of Natural History, the Gunwi Amitayeorae Samjon Stone Cave, and Hanbam Village.

Shin Hyunseung, Head of the Visitor Facilities Division at the Palgongsan National Park Eastern Office, stated, "Through this agreement, both organizations will share their resources and contribute to the revitalization of ecological tourism in Palgongsan National Park," adding, "It will serve as an opportunity to spread the culture of nature conservation and provide high-quality services to visitors."
