Yeongyang County in North Gyeongsang Province conducted a joint inspection of environments harmful to youth on the 20th, in collaboration with the county office, police station, education support office, and the Youth Counseling and Welfare Center, to coincide with the start of the new school term.

This inspection aimed to protect young people from exposure to harmful businesses, substances, and media, as well as to prevent delinquent behavior and foster a healthy growth environment. The inspection focused on businesses and commercial areas in Yeongyang-eup that could pose risks to youth.
The joint inspection team targeted convenience stores, general restaurants, karaoke rooms, and entertainment establishments, focusing on whether signs prohibiting the sale of alcohol and tobacco to those under 19 were posted, and checking for violations regarding youth entry and employment. Related promotional materials were also distributed.
County Governor Oh Dochang stated, "With the start of the new school term, we will conduct regular inspections to ensure that young people are safely protected from harmful environments and create a healthy local environment where they can grow up bright and strong."
