Public Viewing and Feedback on Individual Official Land Price
Basis for Property Tax Calculation Until April 9
The Gwangju city government announced on the 21st that it will accept public viewing and opinions on the "individual officially assessed land price as of January 1, 2025" until April 9. This process is intended to gather feedback from landowners and stakeholders on the price level before finalizing the official land value for each individual plot.
This year, the assessment covers 373,961 parcels of land in Gwangju, excluding 9,938 standard parcels out of a total of 389,695 parcels. The individual official land price is calculated using the land price adjustment table based on the standard land price announced annually by the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
The land price can be checked at the civil service offices of each district, and it is also available for online viewing through the Real Estate Price Information website operated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. After viewing the land price, landowners and stakeholders with opinions may submit a written opinion to the relevant district office in person, by mail, or by fax by April 9.
For land parcels with submitted opinions, the characteristics of the land and the price balance with neighboring parcels will be reviewed. After verification by an appraiser and deliberation by the Real Estate Price Disclosure Committee, the results will be notified to the submitter, and the final decision and public announcement will be made on April 30.
Kim Giho, head of the Land Information Division, stated, "Since the individual official land price serves as the basis for calculating land-related taxes such as property tax and various charges, and has a significant impact on citizens' property rights, we will do our utmost to ensure a reliable decision and disclosure of the individual official land price."
