Group BTS member J-Hope (real name Jung Hoseok) will release his new song "Mona Lisa" at 1 p.m. on the 21st.
On the morning of the same day, J-Hope stated through his agency Big Hit Music, "Mona Lisa is a performance song I am presenting after a long time," adding, "I prepared it as a gift, thinking of ARMY (the fandom name) who wanted a performance."
"Mona Lisa" is a song named after Leonardo da Vinci's masterpiece of the same name, and it cheerfully depicts the situation of having one's heart stolen by a charming person. It is a hip hop R&B genre song that sings that what shakes someone's heart is not external beauty but the uniqueness each person possesses. J-Hope pointed out the easy and witty lyrics as a listening highlight, explaining, "There are various sound effects that are witty, and playful elements here and there. If you find and listen to those parts, it will be more enjoyable."
J-Hope, who participated in the creation of the new song, said, "When I first heard the song, I liked it, but I thought it would be difficult for me to perform. Later, while working in Los Angeles, I modified it to suit me and recorded it, and surprisingly, it fit well. Naturally, the overall visuals came to mind, and I was satisfied."
He said, "It is a song completed after several revisions," adding, "I wanted to show you another side of J-Hope. I worked on it with joy, imagining the day I could enjoy this song with ARMY, and I feel that moment has come. I am always grateful and love the ARMY who trust and wait for me."
J-Hope will showcase the new song stage on the YouTube channel "Studio Choom" at 6 p.m. on the 22nd, and on the 23rd and 24th of this month, he will continue his solo world tour "HOPE ON THE STAGE" at Palacio de los Deportes in Mexico City.
