Two Young Adults' Homes to Be Completely Transformed... Busan City and Ohouse Launch Space Improvement Project for Self-Reliant Youth

From Current Living Spaces to Personalized Spaces of Hope

A project to help organize living spaces for self-reliant young adults will be launched in Busan.

The Busan Metropolitan Government (Mayor Park Hyungjun) announced on the 20th that it will promote the "Youth LUV: Today Busan" project in partnership with "Today’s House" to improve the living spaces of self-reliant youth in Busan.

The city is pursuing this initiative not only to improve living spaces, but also to create an environment where young people can dream about their future together with the local community and grow in Busan.

This project is the third citizen participation public-private collaboration initiative, following last year’s "HIP BUSAN," which received positive feedback for its senior makeover, and the "YOUNG BUSAN" project supporting youth in Busan.

"Today’s House," a partner in this project, is a leading lifestyle platform in Korea's interior market and is well regarded for producing YouTube content that improves living spaces.

Two self-reliant young adults in Busan who need support for improving their living spaces will be selected, and customized space improvements will be provided. The process will be tailored based on interviews with the selected individuals, considering the current state of their living spaces and their desired improvements.

Self-reliant young adults living in Busan who wish to receive support can apply through the online form link posted on the city’s official Instagram and the official YouTube community of Today’s House by March 31.

Applicants should submit photos that best showcase their living spaces, along with their motivation for applying and future plans. After final selection by the Busan Metropolitan Government, the Busan Independent Living Support Agency, and Today’s House, space improvements will be supported over a period of 6 to 8 weeks.

The Busan Independent Living Support Agency is a one-stop integrated service institution supporting the stable independence of protected children and self-reliant young adults.

The entire space improvement process will be produced as content and released on the city’s official Instagram and the official YouTube channel of Today’s House in June and September, respectively.

The Busan Metropolitan Government will produce card news and videos featuring the stories of the selected individuals and the space improvement process, while Today’s House will release a "Before & After" YouTube video in June.

Park Kwangmyung, spokesperson for the Busan Metropolitan Government, said, "We hope the Youth LUV: Today Busan project will serve as a stepping stone for self-reliant young adults taking their first steps into the world," and encouraged public interest.

Park added, "We will continue to discover and expand various content to communicate with more young people and realize a 'city where youth want to live.'"
