LA in April-May, New York in June... Reservations open from 9 a.m.
All 1,870 remaining seats operated as mileage-only seats
Asiana Airlines will operate an international mileage-exclusive flight for customers with unused mileage.
Asiana Airlines announced on the 20th that it will operate a mileage-exclusive aircraft (A380) on transpacific routes for the first time in Korea next month. It plans to operate a total of six flights on the Incheon?Los Angeles (LA) and Incheon?New York routes, with the LA route in April and May, and the New York route in June.
Reservations for the flights will be available from 9 a.m. today. All 1,870 remaining seats will be operated exclusively as mileage seats, and from 20 days before the departure date, unsold seats can be purchased for cash.
For mileage tickets on transpacific routes, the economy class one-way off-season fare requires 35,000 miles, and the business Smartium class requires 62,500 miles. However, some flights are subject to peak season mileage deductions (an additional 50% compared to the off-season).
Since the corporate merger was completed, Asiana Airlines has focused on expanding mileage usage opportunities by operating domestic mileage flights. The total of 38,000 mileage seats additionally supplied through the four rounds of the 'Jeju Happy Mileage Week' promotion recorded an average reservation rate of over 92%.
This time, Asiana Airlines expects to maximize customer satisfaction by operating a dedicated aircraft on the transpacific route, where mileage ticket preference is highest, as a groundbreaking measure.
In addition, Asiana Airlines operates the mileage shopping mall 'OZ Mile Shop' to diversify mileage usage. Customers can purchase various products with mileage, ranging from small gifticons to daily necessities and accommodations, not limited to mileage tickets. Products are updated weekly. This month, customer-preferred brand products such as Dyson and Ceragem were added.
An Asiana Airlines official said, "We are considering expanding mileage-exclusive flights in the second half of the year and plan to increase mileage seats on regular flights compared to before," adding, "We will devise various ways to make it easier for customers to use their mileage."
