Jang Mi-ran, the 2nd Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, met with 10 stakeholders including representatives of athletes and coaches in winter sports for persons with disabilities, as well as executives from the Korea Disabled Ice Hockey Association and the Korea Disabled Ski Association, at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Seoul on the 19th to discuss ways to develop winter sports for persons with disabilities.
Vice Minister Jang and the attendees discussed support measures to help the national team of athletes with disabilities achieve good results at the "2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Paralympics."

The attendees requested the government’s active interest and support to improve the overall training environment for the national team of athletes with disabilities, including the expansion of winter training facilities, and to ensure that the national team can fully demonstrate their skills in a safe environment during the Winter Paralympic Games next year. They also emphasized the need for investment in nurturing new athletes for generational change in winter sports and expanding support for participation in international competitions.
Vice Minister Jang Mi-ran stated, "With the '2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Paralympics' just one year away, national athletes and coaches are surely training hard and sweating it out even at this moment," adding, "The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will diligently prepare during the remaining period and actively cooperate with the Korea Paralympic Committee and affiliated organizations to support the national team of athletes with disabilities in winter sports to achieve good results."
