Korean professional baseball boasts a passionate cheering culture that resembles a concert hall, with fans singing in unison and performing cheering choreography right from the start of the game, unlike in the United States and Japan. Additionally, Korean cheerleaders have entered the Taiwanese professional baseball league, increasing global interest in Korean baseball and its cheering culture.
The Korea Tourism Organization and Kiwoom Heroes plan to jointly plan and promote baseball viewing products for foreigners using Korea's cheering culture and pursue various collaborative projects.
The Tourism Organization will first introduce travel products that include the Kiwoom Heroes home games scheduled from April 10 to August. They will also conduct overseas local marketing using intellectual property (IP) owned by Kiwoom Heroes, such as player photos and videos, and carry out comprehensive promotion through the Tourism Organization's online channels, including the integrated Korean tourism platform 'Visit Korea.'
Kim Jong-hoon, Acting Director of the International Tourism Headquarters at the Korea Tourism Organization, said, "We are pleased to be able to introduce the special charm of Korean professional baseball, which has entered the era of 10 million spectators, to the world through this agreement." He added, "We will continue to cooperate with domestic sports teams to discover new tourism content and make continuous efforts to expand inbound demand."
