Busan Urban Corporation Holds Design Kick-off Meeting for Game Convergence Space Construction Project

Establishment of a Core Facility for the Digital Industry Ecosystem
Addressing the Imbalance in the Game Industry Concentrated in the Seoul Metropolitan Area

Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) held a kick-off meeting for the design service of the 'Game Convergence Space Construction Project,' which will serve as an anchor facility for the game industry in the Busan area, on the 17th.

The Game Convergence Space Construction Project is a facility to be established in the Centum City General Industrial Complex, U-dong, Haeundae-gu, to foster game content companies. It will be built on a 3,121㎡ site with a total floor area of approximately 26,000㎡, consisting of three basement levels and 20 above-ground floors. The project aims to attract a variety of companies at different stages of growth, including one-person game startups, to enhance the competitiveness of Busan's game industry.

The kick-off meeting was attended by the head of BMC's Space Creation Division, the head of Busan City's Game Industry Team, and the head of the Game Industry Promotion Team at Busan IT Industry Promotion Agency. They listened to the explanation of the winning design from the architect and the service implementation plan, and shared various opinions to be reflected in the future design.

BMC requested the design team to incorporate feedback gathered through consultations with organizations and associations related to the game industry into the design. Additionally, various suggestions were made, including the specialization of public open spaces, the use of renewable energy, and energy-saving architecture. These suggestions will be reflected during the course of the project.
