According to the police on the 19th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency received the complaint from Kim's family's legal representative on the 17th and assigned the case to the Seodaemun Police Station's investigation division.

Lee had uploaded several videos on YouTube about Kim from the time after Kim caused a drunk driving accident in 2022 until her death in February of this year. After Kim's death, Lee set all the videos to private.

Bu Ji-seok, the lead attorney at the law firm Buyu and legal representative of the family, stated upon filing the complaint, "Lee not only denied the fact that the two were dating but also spread false information portraying the deceased as a strange woman, causing severe mental distress." He added, "We plan to file additional complaints regarding other videos in the future."

Attorney Bu also judged that Lee's setting the videos to private constitutes evidence tampering and urged the police to conduct a search and seizure to secure the videos.
