May 5-6 Next Month... A Variety of Attractions and Food Experiences
Mokpo City, Jeollanam-do (Mayor Park Hongryul) will hold the 2025 Yudalsan Spring Festival on the 5th and 6th of next month at the Yudalsan area under the theme "The Wisdom of Yi Sunshin, The Victory of Nojeokbong."
According to the city on the 19th, the core contents of this year's festival are the "Manho Naval Forces Departure Parade" and the "Spring Flower Talk Concert." In particular, the Manho Naval Forces Parade will be presented in a more immersive way this year by combining storytelling performances. Vivid scenes such as the invasion of Japanese forces and the joining of peasant soldiers will unfold, offering a new sense of inspiration to visitors with a production differentiated from previous parades.
The parade will feature various groups including the Life Grand Festival Parade Team, neighborhood representatives, the Korea Maritime University, and Mokpo citizens, creating a historical festival made by everyone. In addition, the reenactment of the April 8 Independence Movement will naturally follow the parade, moving away from the traditional pre-event format, and will be presented with a more engaging composition.
For the Spring Flower Talk Concert, George and Kisum will perform on the first day, and Jeong Dakyung, Choi Suho, Seo Jio, and Lee Sona will take the stage on the second day, offering visitors a healing time in the city amidst the beautiful spring flowers of Yudalsan.
This year, the scale of food booths and food trucks has been greatly expanded. In particular, a tasting event was held to evaluate taste, portion, and price for the selection of food trucks, ensuring that only carefully chosen vendors participate. Through this, visitors will be provided with a richer and more satisfying culinary experience.
Various linked programs to revitalize the local economy will also be prepared. The city, in cooperation with local organizations, will promote the "Old Downtown Discount Event" and the "Oktanigil Pilgrimage Group" during the festival period. An agreement ceremony for this was held on the 13th, with about 50 stores participating, and it is expected to develop into a festival that coexists with the local commercial district.
In addition, a variety of hands-on content for families will be available, including the Yudalsan Flower & Unplugged Contest, Nojeokbong Making, and Joseon Naval Camp Experience Program.
Mayor Park Hongryul said, "The 2025 Yudalsan Spring Festival will widely promote Mokpo's historical resources through the wisdom of Admiral Yi Sunshin and become a festival where both citizens and tourists can fully enjoy Mokpo's spring with all their senses. I hope many people will create joyful memories at Yudalsan."
