Amid a challenging job market for young people, government ministries and agencies jointly held a job fair for the first time this year. Choi Sang-mok, Acting Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, encouraged companies to hire young talent, stating, "Providing ample opportunities to the future generation of youth is both a corporate social responsibility and the best investment for growth."
The government is hosting the '2025 Korea Job Fair' from the 19th to the 20th at the Seoul aT Center Exhibition Hall 1 in Seocho-gu, Seoul. This fair marks the first joint event organized by related ministries this year, with a total of 121 companies and thousands of young job seekers participating. As of the first day, 5,000 youths had pre-registered for the fair, and side events such as one-on-one resume consulting and lectures by current employees were fully booked in advance.
In addition to Acting Prime Minister Choi, Kim Moon-soo, Minister of Employment and Labor; Yoo Sang-im, Minister of Science and ICT; Oh Young-joo, Minister of SMEs and Startups; and other ministers and vice ministers from related ministries, as well as Son Kyung-sik, Chairman of the Korea Employers Federation, and other economic organization executives attended the opening ceremony on the first day and toured the venue to encourage young job seekers and company representatives.
In his opening remarks, Acting Prime Minister Choi emphasized, "The Korea Job Fair is a meaningful event that goes beyond job matching, where youth and companies grow together to create a sustainable future for Korea." He urged companies to "share their corporate vision and hire many talents who will grow together." He also added, "The government will actively support companies to create even one more good job."
The fair features five programs designed to assist young job seekers: 'Corporate Recruitment Hall,' 'CareerOn Square,' 'TomorrowOn Station,' 'YouthOn Lounge,' and 'NEW Tech Zone.' At the Corporate Recruitment Hall, 115 outstanding companies across eight sectors, including SMEs and world-class mid-sized companies, will conduct on-site interviews to hire about 800 people.
At CareerOn Square, nine companies including Hyundai Motor Company, SK Hynix, and CJ CheilJedang will provide information on their hiring plans and desired talent profiles to young job seekers. At TomorrowOn Station, employment center career counselors offer one-on-one resume consulting. Free resume photo shoots are also available.
