Held Regular Employee Assembly at Gwangjin-gu Office Auditorium to Strengthen Integrity Commitment
Integrity Pledge Ceremony Emphasizing Fairness, Honesty, Responsibility, and Practice
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) held the first quarter regular employee assembly on the 13th at the Gwangjin-gu Office auditorium, marking a strong start toward achieving a top-tier comprehensive integrity rating for the third consecutive year.
The regular assembly, held under the theme of ‘Integrity · Communication · Empathy,’ was attended by over 300 employees. The event began with a greeting from Mayor Kim Kyung-ho, followed by awards for meritorious employees, an integrity declaration ceremony, and an integrity quiz show. Unlike previous events, the program focused on integrity initiatives, demonstrating a strong commitment to achieving a ‘top-tier comprehensive integrity rating for three consecutive years.’
First, the ‘Integrity Gwangjin’ was declared. Mayor Kim and three employees stepped forward as representatives to pledge their commitment to practicing integrity. Each person held up a card above their head with the words fairness, honesty, responsibility, and practice, shouting them loudly. The attending employees clenched their right fists and joined in the chant.
Next, the integrity quiz show took place. It was conducted in a multiple-choice format using remote controls. The questions covered essential topics employees must know, such as ‘Which is not an integrity initiative of Gwangjin-gu?’ and ‘What is the maximum amount per person for food that public officials can receive?’ Fifteen employees who answered correctly the fastest were selected, and five advanced to the final round. The ultimate winner was Kim Dong-young, an administrative officer from Taxation Division 2, who correctly answered the speed quiz question about ‘Jeong Yak-yong,’ a historical figure emphasizing integrity during the Joseon Dynasty. The event venue was filled with laughter and applause as he performed wearing the symbolic inspector’s robe and hat representing top academic achievement.
An employee who attended the regular assembly said, “In the past, the regular assemblies felt stiff and formal, making the whole event boring, but it is gradually becoming a new and fun event. It was a valuable time to communicate by laughing and chatting with colleagues.”
Mayor Kim Kyung-ho of Gwangjin-gu said, “We actively encouraged employee participation by lightening the somewhat heavy topic of integrity through a quiz show. I hope this integrity declaration ceremony and quiz show will serve as an opportunity to further enhance our integrity rating.” He added, “Integrity is the foundation for the growth and development of our organization. We will continue to build a Gwangjin-gu that is honest and transparent together with residents and employees.”
Last year, the district achieved a ‘top-tier comprehensive integrity rating for two consecutive years,’ a distinction earned by only six out of 716 public institutions nationwide.
