Investigators Visit 4,167 Households Over Two Months
"Providing Tailored Services to Ensure No Resident Is Left Behind"
Gokseong County, South Jeolla Province (Governor Jo Sangrae) announced on the 18th that it had conducted a comprehensive survey of households at risk of welfare crisis in the first half of 2025 to address welfare blind spots. The survey was carried out over two months starting last month, with investigators visiting 4,167 households in person.
The purpose of the survey was to identify households excluded from welfare services due to economic hardship, health issues, or social isolation, with a focus on providing practical home visits and prompt support.
The county utilized 47 types of information provided by the welfare crisis household identification system to survey all 4,167 households classified as at risk. Of these, 327 households were connected to customized service support, including livelihood, housing, medical, and care services.
In particular, households facing financial difficulties received emergency living expenses promptly. For those needing care or home repairs, the county is seeking additional support measures by collaborating with private welfare resources in the region to provide practical services.
Welfare services were linked to 469 households in Gokseong-eup and 558 households in Okhwa-myeon. By type of support, private services such as donated food and side dish provision accounted for the largest share at 60%, followed by simple counseling (32%), other public service linkage (6%), and public benefits (2%).
Through this comprehensive survey, the county focused not only on identifying households in welfare blind spots but also on providing practical support. The Hope Welfare Support Team’s integrated case managers and the customized welfare teams in each town and township collaborated to visit households directly, thoroughly assess the difficulties faced by recipients, and ensure appropriate support was provided. By utilizing human resource networks such as village heads and Hope Dream Welfare Leaders, counseling was conducted, making it possible to link welfare services more accurately and swiftly.
Governor Jo Sangrae emphasized, “At the beginning of this year, we established the County Residents Vitality Division through administrative reorganization to strengthen customized care,” and added, “We will do our utmost to provide welfare services so that no county resident is left behind.”
