Enhanced Convenience with Smart Electronic Scales and Mobile-Linked Devices
Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 18th that it will embark on sustainable resource circulation and carbon neutrality practices together with citizens through the operation of the Goyang Resource Circulation Store in 2025.
This year, for the first time, a more efficient and convenient resource circulation system will be introduced using smart devices.
The Goyang Resource Circulation Store will operate once a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) from 1 PM to 4 PM starting on the 18th, welcoming citizens at a total of 15 locations: 5 in Deogyang-gu, 5 in Ilsandong-gu, and 5 in Ilsanseo-gu.
In this operation, the use of smart electronic scales and mobile-linked devices enables accurate weighing and real-time data management. Through this, citizens can return recyclables more conveniently and receive rewards.
The items collected and reward standards at the Goyang Resource Circulation Store are as follows: ▲ Plastics: transparent PET bottles (360 KRW/kg), other plastics (100 KRW/kg) ▲ Cans: aluminum cans (600 KRW/kg), steel cans (100 KRW/kg) ▲ Paper packs: general packs (100 KRW/kg), milk packs (100 KRW/kg).
To receive rewards, users must install the ‘Superbin Moa’ app and complete membership registration. Accumulated points can be cashed out when reaching 2,000 points or more. Additionally, carbon neutrality points (green lifestyle practice) can also be accumulated, providing more practical benefits to citizens.
Goyang Special City aims not only to reduce waste and increase resource recycling rates through the operation of the Resource Circulation Store but also to enhance user convenience by utilizing smart devices, enabling citizens to participate more actively in carbon neutrality practices.
A Goyang Special City official stated, "We plan to establish a more systematic resource circulation system through the operation of the Resource Circulation Store using smart devices," adding, "We will continue to strive to create a sustainable environment together with citizens."
Goyang Special City will continue to promote various eco-friendly policies and work together with citizens to realize carbon neutrality.
