Goyang Special City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 18th that it successfully held the completion report meeting for the ‘High-Precision Electronic Map Construction Challenge Project’ at the city hall’s main conference room.

This report meeting was organized to share the achievements of the high-precision electronic map construction project promoted by Goyang Special City, which has been successfully completed, and to discuss future utilization plans with Mayor Lee Dong-hwan, related officials, and experts.

Through this project, the city established high-precision digital topographic maps (1:1000 scale) and three-dimensional spatial information across the entire city, laying the foundation of core data for creating a Goyang hub-type smart city. At the same time, it enabled innovative administrative services using electronic maps (such as 3D simulation and urban analysis) in various fields including urban planning, transportation, and disaster management.

In addition, the city plans to open high-quality spatial information as customized map services that citizens can easily use.

The opening of this data is expected to open a new chapter of digital spatial information that can be utilized by both public and private sectors, contributing to making Goyang Special City a smarter and more livable city.
