The Gwangju Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Chairman Han Sangwon) announced on the 18th that it will actively promote the 'Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) Consulting Support Project' to boost sales and revitalize management of local companies by helping them enter the public procurement market, including listing on the Public Procurement Service's Nara Marketplace Comprehensive Shopping Mall.
Since 2018, the Gwangju Chamber has been implementing MAS consulting with support from Gwangju City. The support targets manufacturing companies located in Gwangju that possess direct production certificates and factory registration certificates. Six companies will be selected on a first-come, first-served basis to receive expert consulting (worth approximately 3 million KRW) completely free of charge.
The public procurement market, valued at approximately 196 trillion KRW annually, is seeing a gradual decline in traditional private contracts and purchase bidding methods. However, sales of procurement goods through the Nara Marketplace Shopping Mall have exceeded 26 trillion KRW each year since 2023, and the trend of purchasing products registered on the Public Procurement Service's platform site continues to increase year by year.
Local small and medium-sized enterprises are also striving to secure stable sales by entering the Nara Marketplace Shopping Mall. However, due to a lack of professional personnel and information, individual companies are facing difficulties entering the public procurement market on their own.
To address these challenges, the Gwangju Chamber will support local SMEs in entering the public procurement market more easily through this MAS consulting support project, and will strengthen its customized bidding information system to provide information on bids from major institutions nationwide, including Nara Marketplace.
Chae Hwaseok, Executive Vice Chairman of the Gwangju Chamber, stated, "Last year, companies that received consulting through this support project entered the Nara Marketplace Shopping Mall and achieved approximately 1 billion KRW in delivery performance in a short period, contributing to the stable market expansion of beneficiary companies. We will continue to provide unwavering support so that local companies can pioneer new sales channels by establishing a close cooperation system with related organizations such as Gwangju City."
