Han Dong-hoon: "Lee Jae-myung is not hateful, but a dangerous figure"

Former People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon referenced a famous quote by former professional Go player Lee Sedol, telling Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, "I have no confidence. I am confident I will lose." This was a response Lee Sedol gave in a media interview around March 2016 ahead of the historic match against AlphaGo.
On the 17th, Han appeared on Channel A News YouTube's National Assembly Talk Anchors and was asked, "If you lose in the primary or presidential election, will you continue in politics?" He replied, "Lee Jae-myung is definitely hitting an unbreakable ceiling," adding, "The anxiety, fear, and anger that our conservative supporters feel now is the fear that 'If this goes wrong, a dangerous world under Lee Jae-myung will come.'" Nevertheless, he emphasized, "But we can win."
A former representative, who has previously argued through his book and social networking services (SNS) that "Representative Lee is the most dangerous love in South Korea," also pointed out on this day that Lee is "a dangerous figure rather than just disliked." The former representative said about Lee, "These days he is holding back, but his true nature occasionally bursts out," adding, "Didn’t he also say that 'power should be used ruthlessly'? It reveals what kind of politics he will pursue." Photo by Jo Yong-jun
Previously, through his book and social media, Han has argued that "Lee Jae-myung is the most dangerous love in South Korea." On this day, he described Lee not as hateful but as a dangerous figure. Han said, "These days he is holding back, but his true nature bursts out," and added, "Didn’t he also say, 'Power should be used cruelly'? It reveals what kind of politics he will pursue." He continued, "I am not shouting 'anti-Lee Jae-myung,'" stressing, "I oppose him not because he is a bad person, but because he is an obstacle to the future."
Furthermore, Han stated, "We need to overcome the 1987 system, but Lee is a pro-status quo force. (If he becomes president) he will be running away for five years," criticizing Lee’s passive stance on the constitutional amendment debate emerging in politics. He also referred to Lee’s remark in March last year that "No matter what happens with China and Taiwan, we just say ‘Xie Xie (謝謝, thank you),’" claiming, "He is taking a 'North Korea-China-Russia stance' in this era of bloc warfare."
Finally, regarding Daegu Mayor Hong Joon-pyo’s comment that "One of the instigators of martial law was Han Dong-hoon," Han retorted, "Shouldn’t they rather answer what they were doing at that time?" He added, "I was practically running around alone trying to correct issues like the Kim Geon-hee matter and the Myeong Taekyun issue," stating, "The moment each of those issues erupted, it was content that would sink the conservative government." He criticized, "Those people (including the president) kept bragging while eating together. But why did they say nothing and not speak frankly at that time?"
