The Daejeon City Council announced that it will hold its 285th extraordinary session for nine days from the 20th to the 28th, during which it will deliberate a total of 38 agenda items, including 26 ordinance proposals for enactment or amendment and 3 proposals for recommendations.
At the first plenary session at 10 a.m. on the 20th, the council will handle items such as the “Proposal to Introduce an On-site Practical Certification System to Strengthen the Expertise of Beauty Industry Workers,” the “Proposal to Establish the Autonomous Police System and Amend the Police Act for the Realization of Local Decentralization,” and the appointment of members for the 2024 fiscal year settlement inspection committee, followed by five-minute free speeches.
At the second plenary session on the 21st, questions on major municipal and educational administration will be raised, and from the 24th to the 27th, each standing committee will review ordinance proposals and other agenda items.
Special committee meetings will also be held, with the Regional Issues and Regulatory Innovation Special Committee convening on the 21st and the Integrated Early Childhood Education Promotion Special Committee on the 27th to receive major business reports.
