Cheongsong-eup, the center of Cheongsong-gun, completed the underground power line project along Jungang-ro and Geumwol-ro in 2022, transforming the area into a street without utility poles. Road maintenance and signboard improvements were also implemented, further enhancing the brand value of "Oxygen Cafe Cheongsong-gun."

Currently, the underground power line project is in full swing in Jinbo-myeon, along with various related projects such as pedestrian environment improvement and the installation of smart street lights.

The Jinbo-myeon underground power line project began in January 2023 with a total budget of 15.2 billion KRW, and completion is scheduled for the first half of this year. This project goes beyond simply burying power lines, incorporating various measures to enhance pedestrian safety and nighttime security.

In particular, by securing an additional 1.4 billion KRW in funding, the "Safe Pedestrian Environment Creation Project" is being carried out simultaneously, focusing on separating the paths of vehicles and pedestrians and reorganizing the roads to create a safer environment.

Additionally, a "Smart Street Security Lighting Improvement Project" worth 900 million KRW is also underway. By installing smart LED lighting that is more energy-efficient than existing streetlights, maintenance costs are reduced, and bright, safe streets are created even at night, contributing to crime prevention. Modern lighting on clean, pole-free roads offers a more pleasant environment for local residents and visitors alike.

The county's underground power line project is yielding positive results in various aspects, not only improving the urban landscape but also ensuring pedestrian safety, alleviating parking difficulties, and strengthening public security. As utility and communication poles disappear, roads have become wider, pedestrian spaces have been secured, and vehicle traffic has become much smoother.

In particular, improvements to nighttime security lighting have enhanced crime prevention and created an environment where residents can safely use the streets, which has been well received.

Furthermore, the installation of landscape lighting using smart LED lights leaves a positive impression on tourists visiting Cheongsong-gun and contributes to revitalizing the local economy.

Cheongsong-gun plans to gradually expand the underground power line project in the future. While continuing to maintain and manage completed sections, the county aims to gradually extend the project to areas where it has not yet been implemented. In addition, signboard maintenance and street landscape improvement projects will be carried out simultaneously to create cleaner and more beautiful street environments.

County Governor Yoon Kyunghee said, "The underground power line project not only improves the urban landscape of Cheongsong-gun, but is also an important project that enhances the quality of life for residents," adding, "We will continue to actively reflect residents' opinions and create a better living urban environment."
