Safety Audits Conducted with External Experts
Busan Port Authority (BPA, President Song Sangkeun) is conducting safety inspections in preparation for the thawing season for approximately two weeks, from the 10th to the 20th, targeting 67 port facilities and 24 construction sites under its management.

The thawing season safety inspection is carried out to identify and address potential hazards in advance, as the ground that was frozen during winter melts due to rising temperatures, increasing the risk of collapses and other accidents.
The main inspection items include potential hazards such as ground weakening during the thawing season, structural cracks, deformations, and verification of drainage at excavation sites.
Additionally, this inspection will actively utilize external experts such as industrial safety consultants and specialized safety diagnosis agencies to form a safety inspection team, thereby enhancing the professionalism and reliability of the inspection.
The BPA Audit Office, together with the external safety inspection team, will conduct random on-site safety audits. The focus will be on key thawing season safety inspection items, compliance with construction safety regulations, whether construction workers have received safety education tailored to thawing season characteristics, and other safety hazards.
BPA Construction Headquarters Director Lee Sangkwon stated, "We will proactively manage potential risks at sites during the thawing season and work with external experts to promptly address even minor issues," adding, "We will do our utmost to create a safe Busan Port."
