Fuel Replacement and Preventive Maintenance
Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Hanul Nuclear Power Headquarters (Director Lee Seyong) announced, "Hanul Unit 6 (pressurized water reactor, 1 million kW class) halted power generation at 10 a.m. on the 18th and began its 14th planned preventive maintenance, which will last approximately 66.5 days."
During the planned preventive maintenance period, Hanul Unit 6 will carry out facility improvements such as increasing the circuit breaker capacity to resolve transmission constraints on the East Coast and replacing the intake anchor attachments. It will also undergo various statutory inspections under the Nuclear Safety Act and receive conformity verification from regulatory agencies. After obtaining operational approval from the Nuclear Safety and Security Commission, it is scheduled to resume power generation in May.
